what is it like to work with me?

I specialize in trauma-informed therapy and EMDR for adults struggling with anxiety, chronic stress, emotional overwhelm, and nervous system dysregulation.

services

I take a compassionate, goal-oriented approach to therapy that is tailored to each client’s unique experiences and needs.

Rather than using a one-size-fits-all process, therapy is shaped around each client’s goals, challenges, and personal experiences. The focus is on helping clients better understand themselves, build healthier patterns, and create steady, lasting forward movement in their daily lives.

Questions & Answers

What is EMDR?

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based therapy approach designed to help the brain and nervous system heal.

Many people feel stuck in patterns of anxiety, hypervigilance, emotional reactivity, or shutdown without fully understanding why. EMDR helps process those experiences in a way that allows the nervous system to feel safer, calmer, and less reactive over time.

What can EMDR help?

EMDR may help with:

  • Anxiety and panic
  • Trauma and PTSD
  • Chronic stress
  • Negative self-beliefs
  • Emotional triggers
  • Grief and loss
  • Relationship wounds
  • Feeling “stuck” in survival mode

How does the "Eye movement" part work?

There’s nothing mysterious or “hypnotic” about EMDR. It’s a structured, evidence-based process.

During EMDR, Michelle asks you to briefly bring a memory or feeling to mind while your attention is directed back and forth using eye movements (following her fingers or a small light). This bilateral stimulation is simply a tool that helps your brain process information differently.

do I have to do EMDR?

No. You’re never required to do any specific type of therapy.

We decide together what approach makes the most sense based on your goals and what feels manageable. Some clients choose EMDR, some prefer traditional talk therapy, and many use a combination over time.

Nothing is forced, and nothing happens without your agreement.

Does michelle accept insurance?

Yes!  Michelle accepts insurance from various providers and is licensed to serve clients who are residents of Arizona or Nevada.  Please inquire for more information.

If you’re ready for things to feel different, therapy can be a place to finally put some of the weight down and start moving forward.

I meet clients with honesty, empathy, and a focus on real change — not endless talking without direction.

You don’t have to figure it out alone.

You’ve carried enough on your own.
